Back to Blogging

I have taken an extended vacation from blogging due to busy schedules and a trip back to the US to celebrate Christmas and attend my No. 1 son's wedding. We visited with all of our children, Katie in Jax, and our two boys Josh and Justin stayed with us in Valdosta. Mother, Brother and Sister were nearby also. John's Mother and two nieces and a nephew came through and visited us on a trip to Disney. We haven't seen them in a long time so it was a good time. I will be back blogging in a few days with new and exciting commentary about living in the Middle East. I hope the Holiday Season was a joyous one for all.

We had the privilege of celebrating our son Dan's beautiful wedding to his lovely bride Heidi. What an extraordinary event! I've never been to a Jewish wedding before. It was a wonderful event full of traditions that involved the whole community of people who were present. More than anything, we now have an extended family in Heidi's parents, sisters, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. I have never received such a warm welcome from such a large number of people. They truly welcomed my son and his family into the fold.

We also had the opportunity to celebrate Dan's graduation from UF with his Master's in Agricultural and Biological Engineering with a specialty in Land and Water Resources. It was a momentuous occasion that I am happy I was able to attend. Now the job hunt is on!!! :)

After a few days rest in Abu Dhabi, I will again be out and about and exploring this strange new land. As always, each day will be filled with something new and adventurous. Stay posted. I'm sure I'll have something interesting to share in a few days.
